一、「大会」，为一例常召集之政治团体， 徒19:39 。

二、指一般的「聚集者，会众」。（ 撒上19:20 ） 徒19:32,40 。

三、以色列的「集会」，特别指为宗教目的的聚集。（ 申4:10 31:30 士20:2 撒上17:47 王上8:14 ） 来2:12 （ 诗22:22 ），如为聆听律法（ 申4:10 9:10 18:16 ） 徒7:38 。

四、指基督徒的「教会」或「会众」。
A. 「教会的聚会」：συνερχομένων ὑμῶν ἐν ἐ. 你们聚会的时候， 林前11:18 ;参 林前14:4,5,19,28,35 ;复数－ 林前11:34 。另参 约三1:6 。

B. 「教会，会众」，是居住于一地区之基督徒的总称， 太18:17 徒5:11 8:3 林前4:17 腓4:15 ;参 徒15:22 。较确定之描述：指耶路撒冷的教会， 徒8:1 11:22 ；坚革哩， 罗16:1 ；哥林多， 林前1:2 林后1:1 ;帖撒罗尼迦， 帖前1:1 帖后1:1 ；哥罗西，腓利门书之标题，异版。同样，有其他名字者－ 启2:1,8,12,18 3:1,7,14 。复数－ 徒15:41 16:5 罗16:16 林前7:17 林后8:18,19,23,24 及其他多处。在犹太的各教会， 加1:22 帖前2:14 ；加拉太， 加1:2 林前16:1 ；亚细亚， 林前16:19 启1:4 ；马其顿， 林后8:1 。κατ᾽ ἐκκλησίαν在各教会， 徒14:23 。 徒13:1 之κατὰ τ. οὖσαν ἐ.参εἰμί－SG1510戊，始。
