01078 γένεσις, εως, ἡ 名詞

一、「起頭，根源，世系」，亦指「出生」（創40:20 何2:5 傳7:1 異版）太1:18 （見γέννησις－SG1083）；路1:14 。

二、「存在」。πρόσωπον τῆς γ. αὐτοῦ自己本來的面目，雅1:23 。

三、太1:1 之βίβλος γενέσεως家譜一詞是來自舊約：創2:4 5:1 ；此兩處之前者指根源的歷史，可作太1的標題，後者則指家譜，是描述太1:1-17 的內容。

四、ὁ τροχὸς τῆς γενέσεως生命的輪子，雅3:6 是玄奧，神秘的用法，指人類本源的輪子，雅各書中似乎失去原本意義，而表示人生的路程。字義見τροχός－SG5164。
