1) 初熟的果子, 第一份
00536 ἀπαρχή, ῆς, ἡ 名詞
一、獻祭用語，任何類別「最初部份」（包括家飼和野生的動物）是神聖的，在其他未供俗用以前，必先獻祭。
A. 字義：εἰ ἡ ἀ. ἁγία, καὶ τὸ φύραμα（指麵）的初果若是聖潔，全團也就聖潔， 羅11:16 （關於初熟的麵，見 民15:18-21 ）。

B. 喻意：
1. 指人：基督徒「初結的果子」，ἀ. τῆς Ἀσίας，即在亞細亞第一位悔改者， 羅16:5 。 ἀ. τῆς Ἀχαΐας 亞該亞初結的果子， 林前16:15 。 帖後2:13 可能是帖撒羅尼迦第一位悔改信主者。一般用法－ἀ. τις τῶν αὐτοῦ κτισμάτων他所造萬物中初熟的果子， 雅1:18 。此處如同 啟14:4 ，重點在性質而非時間順序。其原意大大減弱，以致ἀ.幾乎等於πρῶτος首先的；指基督ἀ. τῶν κεκοιμημένων 睡了之人初熟的果子， 林前15:20 ;參 林前15:23 。

2. 指事物： τὴν ἀ. τοῦ πνεύματος ἔχοντες 我們有聖靈初結果子， 羅8:23 ，但見意二。

2) to take away the firstfruits of the productions of the earth which
   was offered to God. The first portion of the dough, from which sacred
   loaves were to be prepared. Hence term used of persons consecrated
   to God for all time.
