一、「養育，指導，訓練，教育」。ἐπαιδεύθη Μωϋσῆς πάσῃ σοφίᾳ Αἰγυπτίων 摩西學了埃及人一切的學問，徒7:22 。πεπαιδευμένος κατὰ ἀκρίβειαν τοῦ πατρῴου νόμου按著我們祖宗嚴緊的律法受教，徒22:3 。

二、「培養紀律」：

A. 「矯正，給予指導」（七十士）。τινά某人：τοὺς ἀντιδιατιθεμένους那些抵擋的人，提後2:25 。帶後置ἵνα：導向，多2:12 。

B. 「管教」帶懲罰：

1. 多數指神的管教：來12:6 （箴3:12 ）。帶ἐλέγχειν︰啟3:19 （參箴3:12 詩6:1 38:1 141:4 ，另見來12:10 下。被動：林前11:32 林後6:9 。有益的管教甚至也可藉撒但得以發揮應用；被動：帶後置不定詞：提前1:20 。

2. 指來自生身之父的管教（箴19:18 28:17 上; 箴29:17 ）來12:7,10 上。

3. 用鞭打或使受痛苦來管教（王上12:11,14 代下10:11,14 ）; 路23:16,22 。παιδεύω此希臘字均譯責打。
