不完3单ἔκειτο。「躺卧，斜倚」。可以作为τίθημι的被动。
一、字义：
A. 用于人：带地点的指示－ἔν τινι在某物上。用于孩子－ἐν φάτνῃ在马槽， 路2:12,16 。用于死人－带οὗ或ὅπου， 太28:6 路23:53 约20:12 。

B. 用于物：「置于」ἐπί τι某物上， 林后3:15 。或ἐπάνω τινός 太5:14 。独立用法（ 书4:6 ）：用于宝座，椅子时，作设立之意， 启4:2 。用于衣服置放（在那里） 约20:5,6,7 。 约21:9 。用于器皿，放在（那里）（参 耶24:1 ）， 约2:6 19:29 。用于财物，「积存」， 路12:19 。用于根基，立， 林前3:11 。ἡ πόλις τετράγωνος κεῖται那城是立为四方的， 启21:16 原文。κ. πρός τι放在某物上一斧子放在树根上， 太3:10 路3:9 。

二、喻意：
A. 「被指派，按立，指定」εἴς τι做某事：εἰς πτῶσιν καὶ ἀνάστασιν叫人跌倒与兴起， 路2:34 。εἰς ἀπολογίαν τοῦ εὐαγγελίου为明辨福音， 腓1:16 。εἰς τοῦτο为此事， 帖前3:3 。

B. 用于法律上的事：「生效，授命」。带τινί为某人设立律法， 提前1:9 。

C. 处于某种状况或境遇之下。 ὁ κόσμος ἐν τῷ πονηρῷ κ.世界卧在那恶者（的权势）里， 约一5:19 。
