「收养」（的儿子）。字义：为法律上的术语：在圣经中，即保罗仅用于宗教的意义上。
一、用于接受以色列国为神的儿子（参 出4:22 赛1:2 等处，然而缺少υἱοθ.这个字；在七十士译中无法找到） 罗9:4 。

二、用于那些转向基督教且被神接受成为他的儿子者，th.n υἱοθεσίαν ἀπολαβεῖν 我们得着儿子的名份， 加4:5 。参 弗1:5 。这灵是归正者接受的，πνεῦμα υἱοθεσίας被立为子的灵， 罗8:15 （反于πν. δουλείας如仆人的灵＝这种灵是奴隶所有的，而非贵族的儿子所具有的）。信徒们只有在属地的身体被释放之时，才能得着被立为子υἱοθεσία的那种满足的喜乐， 罗8:23 节。*
