   The passage of Daniel, to which our Lord refers, was always
   considered by the Jews as a description of the Messiah.  Our
   Saviour, therefore, now in his lowest state of humiliation,
   asserted his claims as the Messiah, who shall appear in the
   clouds of heaven, as the judge of the world.
